Irene was born in Barcelona, 1993. From an early age, she was very interested in music so she started to take piano lessons in different conservatories like Oriol Martorell or Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona.
When she was 11, she started to play the saxophone and, at the age of 15, she introduced jazz into her live. She then enrolled at College (ESMUC) in 2011 to study with Eladio Reinón, Gorka Benítez and Xavi Figuerola and after that, she started her Masters degree in Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Ferdinand Povel as her main teacher.
From 2008 to 2011 she was playing alto and baritone sax and clarinet at the Sant Andreu Jazz Band as a oficial musician. She recorded some CDs with this band (Jazzing Live at Casa Fuster and Jazzsing vol. II). On them she played with great musicians like Dick Oatts, Perico Sambeat, Jesse Davis, Scott Robinson as special guests.
Nowadays she has different projects such as "The Bop Collective" or her own trio, which performed around of Catalonia and The Nederlands.
In 2016 she went to Philadelphia where she recorded her first Cd as a leader "Views". It features John Swana on Evi and it is available in Spotify.
In between she has been participated in other projects as well such as: Star Wood Band, Joan Casares Sextet and Esmuc Jazz Project, which she recorded several CDs.
Irene lives in Amsterdam where is studying saxophone Master with Ferdinand Povel and, sometimes, Dick Oatts. In the Conservatorium van Amsterdam she had the oportunity to play with important musicians like Simon Rigter, Martjin van Iterson, Terell Staford and Rob van Bamel.
